A mad scientist, also called a mad professor, is a scientist or another character with such an expertise that is insane, or otherwise uses their genius for unethical reasons, such as creating weaponry or conducting amoral experiments. These reasons usually involve taking over the world or putting it in a state of chaos, and mad scientists are almost always antagonists/villains, however some (such as Dexter or Doc Brown) can still include neutral or heroic traits,
